Welcome delegates!

My name is Angelina Kuo and I am a senior at Taipei American School. It is my utmost honor to serve as your Secretary of UNDP alongside your Chair, Chloe Chen.

TAIMUN was one of the first conferences I attended at the start of my MUN journey. During my first debate, I was astonished at how MUN transformed from learning and practicing with my peers from different committees at TAS into active discussions and negotiations with passionate individuals. I completely transformed into a new person as a young inexperienced delegate and grew more confident in my public speaking skills.

If you haven’t been in UNDP before, welcome as it is also my first time chairing UNDP! This is a specialized committee that follows the UN4MUN procedure, which is all based on Consensus Decision Making. You will mainly participate in informal discussions to draft resolutions collaboratively. Whether this is your first conference or last, I wish all of you to make the best out of TAIMUN XXIII and gain the thrilling MUN experience I had at my first TAIMUN conference. I hope you can take away something more from this conference whether it’s new friendships or a greater understanding of how to bring harmony into our fractured world.

Apart from MUN, you will find me playing with my cat, painting, collecting plushies, or binge-watching shows. If you ever need a good show recommendation, let me know!

Feel free to reach out by email (25angelinak@students.tas.tw) or Instagram (angelina77k). I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions!

Good luck and see you all in March!

 Chair

Chloe Chen

Hello Delegates!

My name is Chloe Chen, and I am a sophomore at the American School in Taichung (AST). It is an honor to serve as your Chair of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for this year’s TAIMUN. This will be my 10th MUN conference and my first time chairing!

I began my MUN journey in the eighth grade when everything—from procedures to speaking in third-person pronouns—felt incredibly confusing. However, by stepping out of my comfort zone and attending more conferences, I gradually gained experience and confidence.

Through MUN, I discovered my passion for global issues and debate. It has also helped me improve my critical thinking skills, understand diverse perspectives, and make friends from around the island.

My goal at TAIMUN is to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels encouraged to participate. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at 27chloec@ast.tc.edu.tw.

Outside of MUN, I enjoy playing Roblox horror games, connecting with others, and painting. I am thrilled to meet all of you this coming March and look forward to an incredible conference together!
