General Assembly 1 (GA1)
Head Chair
Keira Du

Hey everyone!
My name is Keira Du, a sophomore at TAS, and I will have the honor of serving as your Head Chair for GA1. My MUN journey began in 7th grade as a nervous delegate who had no experience with international relations but a small habit of discussing politics. I found myself at a real conference after being forced to do MUN by her parents because I had refused to do debate. I never imagined that one conference would ignite my passion for understanding real world issues and inspire me to become actively engaged in speaking out about political issues. After 7 conferences and 2 chairing opportunities, I have come a long way in shaping my own perspective of how I look at the world.
Aside from MUN, I like dancing and playing tennis. Although I am an introvert, I really do like meeting new people and push myself to actively engage in different communities. I am also a student government member of my school where I try my best to bridge the gap between student and admin. I also enjoy humanity subjects at school a lot more than other subjects, which I guess goes along with how I enjoy MUN.
When we see each other in March, I strongly encourage you to push yourself out of your comfort zone more than you normally would. It is not everyday that you get the opportunity to be at a great conference with likeminded individuals who want to debate pressing world topics. Make sure you actively participate, ask questions, and most importantly, make new connections with people with similar interests. At the end of the day, we are all here because we have some interest in global politics. As your chair, I have the responsibility to guide and hopefully inspire you. I promise to encourage and make our committee a safe space to grow. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me through my email 28keirad@students.tas.tw.
Can’t wait to meet you guys!
Deputy Chair
Cobie Lee
Hi delegates, my name is Cobie, and I’m a sophomore at VIS International School. This year, I have the honor of serving as your Deputy Chair of DISEC (GA1) at TAIMUN, marking my 18th conference and fifth time chairing.
My MUN journey traces back to the winter of eighth grade; however, the defining moment that truly ignited my “spark” came in February 2025, when I participated as a single delegate for the first time. That shaped my core principle in MUN, though cliché, I truly hope all of you can overcome your fear of public speaking, or perhaps the fear of engaging with others, over the course of this two-day conference.
Beyond MUN, I’m a passionate scuba diver and an enthusiast of cuisines of all kinds. Although you’ll often find me golfing, I still kind of suck at it.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone that MUN is not solely about debate. The United Nations is, at its heart, a forum for negotiation and collaboration. Debate certainly has its place when ideals clash, but it should never be the only focus. Always remember to listen, ask questions, and actively seek diversity and inclusion within the committee, and you will discover the true essence of diplomacy.
Feel free to reach out via my email at cobie.lee@vis.tp.edu.tw if you run into any questions.

With that, I can’t wait to meet you all in March!
