Historical Crisis (HC)

Crisis Director

Sean Woodruff

I’m Sean Woodruff, currently a Senior at American School in Taichung, and this is my 5th year in Model United Nations as well as my 23th conference. It is my pride, privilege, nay, my honor to serve as your Crisis Director for TAIMUN XXIV.

I started out as nervous as one could be however I quickly figured out that to venture out of my comfort zone and succeed is one of the most rewarding experiences one can have. At that point, I was officially hooked. I went from a speech typing keyboard warrior to an all improvisation delegate after being inspired by a fellow delegate when I was at my 4th conference, STMUN 2021. My biggest piece of advice to all delegates is that improvising speeches will open you up to many many more opportunities not only to speak but to develop as a speaker.

Now enough on my experience in mun and what not. More on what I enjoy. In my free time I enjoy working out, playing football, and listening to music. My favorite genres of music are Indie, Numetal, and Rock. I also indulge in energy drinks a lot during mun to keep myself awake so if someone were to ask for one and I have an extra it’d be very likely that I’d share. Hope to see you all at the conference.

Sincerely,

Sean Woodruff

Crisis President

Jada Walia

Honourable Advisors, Diligent Secretariats, Fellow Student Officers, Enthusiastic Delegates, and Most-Esteemed Guests. I am Jade Walia, a senior at Kang Chiao International School Linkou, and I will be serving as your Historical Crisis President during TAIMUN XXVI.

My MUN journey began in 8th grade when I joined the KCISLK MUN club as a shy and confused delegate. Since then my abilities as a MUNer, as well as my enthusiasm for MUN, have both grown substantially as a result of attending numerous conferences all across Taiwan as a delegate, a student officer, and even as a secretariat. With my growing passion for MUN, I soon became excited at the prospect of attending conferences and learning about the many different issues our planet and its inhabitants currently face on a daily basis. I have always been an activist for sustainability, and MUN has taught me more ways to advocate for and contribute to solutions to many of these aforementioned daily issues. As a chair, my goal is to share my love of MUN with the next generation of diplomats and teach them about the problems in our world. TAIMUN 2026 will mark my 8th time chairing, my 20th overall conference, and, unfortunately, my third and last TAIMUN.

Aside from MUN, I am a theatre kid, a STEM student, and an adrenaline junkie. I also enjoy music (specifically rock, indie rock, and nu metal), performing, volunteering, binge-watching, and learning about the most random and interesting subjects. Feel free to reach out to me at any time before the conference if you have any questions or you just want to chat! My email is ls12172@stu.kcislk.ntpc.edu.tw and my instagram is @queenjezqde.

With that being said, I look forward to meeting all of you enthusiastic and diligent delegates in March! Let’s make this an unforgettable experience for us all!!

Thank You!!

Jasmine Wu

Hello! I am Jasmine Wu, a senior at Hsinchu County American School (HCAS), and it is a great honor to serve as your Historical Crisis Deputy President in TAIMUN XXVI.

TAIMUN XXVI will be my 13th and sadly my last MUN conference. My MUN journey began back in 2019, when I was still struggling to find my voice once I was up on the podium. I found myself stuck to my chair as I was timid and wouldn't dare to raise my placard in front of all the other delegates. However, as time went on and I explored a variety of committees, taking on different roles, and attending international conferences, I soon found myself speaking eagerly in debate, improvising speeches on the spot, and befriending some of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I hope you all find joy in debating rigorously on global topics, collaborating with new people, and expressing yourselves confidently. MUN has genuinely taught me a lot, and I hope to give you the experience of feeling so as well. Outside of MUN, I enjoy watching Formula 1, shopping, and playing golf. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

My email is jasmine0119wu@gmail.com, and my Instagram is jqsmjn_e. I look forward to seeing you all in March!
