Deputy President

Phoebe Hsu

Greetings, judges and advocates!

I’m Phoebe Hsu, a senior at Taipei American School, and I am honored to serve as your Deputy President of ICJ for TAIMUN XXIV. TAIMUN XXIV will be my 12th (and last) conference and 6th time serving as a student officer.

My first encounter with the ICJ was two years ago at HSINMUN, and I was immediately intrigued by the unique procedure and the fruitful debate involving both sides of the case, as well as the judges’ role in delivering an adequate and appropriate verdict. Since then, the ICJ has become my favorite MUN procedure, and I served as a judge again at TAIMUN XXII. I am excited to make a full circle and return to TAIMUN, where I fell in love with the process, and help make your conference experience productive and enjoyable. Although I may not be the most experienced, having judged several times and watched close friends prepare as advocates, please feel free to reach out to me for any help. I will do everything in my power to support you throughout the preparation process for the case.

Outside of MUN, you'll find me cafe hopping and trying out new restaurants I found on instagram with my friends. When I'm not doom-scrolling or grinding work, I love to go golfing or play the cello. Feel free to reach out to me through Instagram (@phoebehsu1105) or email (26phoebeh@students.tas.tw) about the conference or any of our common hobbies (can never have enough food buddies)!

I look forward to seeing you all in March for TAIMUN XXIV!
