United Nations Women (UN Women)

Secretary

Juliet Fung

Greetings, delegates. I’m Juliet Fung, a Junior at the International Bilingual School of Hsinchu. I am incredibly honored to serve as your Secretary of UN Women at TAIMUN this year!

I joined MUN in middle school, and this conference marks my 16th conference and 8th time chairing. MUN has undeniably changed my high school journey; through attending these conferences, I’ve found long-lasting friendships, gained more confidence in public speaking, and learned more about current global matters. I am incredibly excited to share this eye-opening experience with you all, and highly encourage every one of you to try something new and step out of your comfort zone during debate.

Whether you are feeling anxious about what is to come during the conference or confidently prepared to debate, don’t forget to stop and look around during the conference, or you may miss the meaningful memories, insights, and moments the conference has to offer!

Aside from MUN, I enjoy listening to music, sudoku, karaoke sessions, and binging Netflix series. Feel free to reach out to me through Instagram (@obvslyjules) or email (440024@ibsh.tw) if you have any questions pertaining to the issue! I can’t wait to see the potential all of you hold, see you in March!

Chair

Maxine Raymond

Hello! My name is Maxine Raymond, and I am a junior at the American School in Taichung (AST). I am truly honored to serve as your Chair for UN Women at TAIMUN this year.

TAIMUN was actually my first introduction to MUN. I loved it so much I have attended 15 more conferences since then. However, this is the first time I will be chairing so I might be just as nervous as you! MUN has become a big part of my life, helping me grow in confidence, teamwork, and most importantly, finding long-lasting friendships. Through each conference, I’ve learned the importance of understanding multiple perspectives, thinking critically, and finding creative solutions to global problems. I want to remind you all to take a deep breath and remember that  we are the ones that get to make change now, and that we are the future.

As your chair, I hope to create an open, engaging, and welcoming environment for all delegates. Whether this is your first or tenth conference, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, speak up, and make the most of this experience.

Outside of MUN, I enjoy binging way too many TV shows, traveling all over the world, listening to music, and swimming. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me through email (27maxiner@ast.tc.edu.tw) or Instagram (@Maxine_._13) if you have any questions!

I can’t wait to meet everyone and see the amazing ideas you’ll bring to the table. See you soon!
